Video/New Pics

Jayna has another tooth!! It's the other bottom middle one. I still haven't been able to take a clear picture of the first one, but I will post what I did get. The video is hilarious. Jayna has figured out how to pull herself up (by herself!)!! She has been pulling up using our hands, but she now knows she can pull herself w/ out us!! But, when I went to take a video of her doing it on my camera, she just didn't want to cooperate........

Update

Jayna is almost about to crawl on her hands and knees! She gets up on them and rocks for awhile and then lunges herself forward. It could be any day now!! She is starting to walk while holding on to furniture as well. She hasn't quite figured out how to pull herself up on the furniture as most of it is too tall, but she is working on it and when she wants to stand up she will grab your hands/fingers and pull herself up. She is becoming very interactive. She loves to 'talk' and when I take the dogs outside, she about jumps out of my arms because she wants in the pool! So I'm thinking we might just have to go swimming tonight (depending on the weather...it's been gloomy all day which is rare for here)!!! She is also teething like crazy still! Her other bottom one looks ready to pop any day now. I haven't been able to get a good picture of her current tooth yet, but here are some recent pictures.

These were taken earlier after she woke up. She is for the most part VERY happy!!

She LOVES her sippy cups! She does very well holding them and drinking from them by herself!

She loves to eat puffs as well! She has figured out how to get them to her mouth...she does one of three things:

1. She tries to pick one up with her left hand, if she picks it up with her thumb, index, and middle finger, she can get it in her mouth! Too far down in her hand and it gets caught in her palm...she then puts her hand up to her mouth and licks it trying to get it, only to make it soggy and stick to her!

2. She picks up a handful with her right hand and picks one out of that handful with her left.

3. If both of those fail, she picks up a handful and puts it up to her mouth, usually getting one in!

If it gets stuck to her hand, she opens her hand up and starts shaking it until it falls off, then she picks it back up and tries again. It is so funny to watch her figure things out.

Bath Pics

Despite the shots, Jayna was still in a good mood today! I took a few pictures during her bath, she absolutely loves to play in the water....but would rather play with her washcloth than her toys!! She is sitting up so well now!

6 Months!

Well we had Jayna's 6 month appointment today. She had 3 shots and the oral rotavirus vaccine (this is a LOT less than the 5 and the oral from the previous times!). She cried when they were doing the shots, but I think it was more from holding her down than anything. Of course she stopped immediately and has been fine since!

She is up to 15lbs and 25 3/4 inches long!!! Dr. Puentes said another tooth is ready to break through as well (the bottom one next to her current one). She was very amazed with the paper on the table this time. I think the sound it made really interested her. By the time we left, it was a huge mess!

I finally got a video of Jayna crawling. Ever since she figured how to pull herself around, she has been ALL over the place. We are definately doing some babyproofing this weekend! I don't think it will be too long before she figures out how to crawl the 'real' way.

Here are a couple pictures from the pool the other night. We hadn't planned on taking Jayna in with us, but when Grammy took the dogs out, she got very excited when she saw us in the pool, so we stripped her down and brought her in (seriously, what's the point of a swim diaper? No matter what they do, it's more than likely going to get in the pool!).

Milestones!!

Just a quick update...I'll try and post some pictures soon. I noticed on Tuesday that Jayna had a line on her gums. She would't let me look at it, but later on in the day I felt it and we have a TOOTH!!!! Her gums haven't swelled back over it, so it may have been coming and going for the past week and we just didn't see/feel it (she has been kinda fussy, so that would explain it)!

Also, she has been getting up on her hands and knees and rocking, but no real crawling yet. Tonight she was playing on the floor and Nikki was near her, so she started army crawling towards her!!! This is a huge step as lately she has just been rolling around to get to different places, scooting backwards, or turning in a circle!

4th of July Pictures

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We stayed around the house and went swimming and grilled out. We went to a Matthew West concert Thursday night though! After the concert they put on an awesome display of fireworks! Jayna was in awe of them.
